Review, Buku Harian Karenina by Maiaruna

Dear Wonderful Readers and Blogger friends,

i know it’s been so long wasn’t being regularly posting as always, but i try to reach out and manage my time just to write here 🙂 i hope i will find out the way to go there like i used to.

and today’s post actually just for my Indonesian Readers, but if you can read my language i use right now just welcome :D,

a couple of days ago i got this book from my Dear Friend Maia, i was honored to be able to know her work it’s just beautifully written! i bet you guys! seperti judulnya saja, buku ini menceritakan kisah seorang Karenina, suka duka masa mudanya hingga memiliki seorang suami dan anak (i know it’s kinda usual Drama, right?) but guys you are totally wrong! i thought at the beginning when i read the first pages! setelah membaca masuk ke halaman halaman selanjutnya, i am impressed dengan gaya bahasa yang digunakan, sehingga sebuah ‘Drama’ yang diceritakan seperti novel – novel yang mungkin sering kamu baca menjadi menarik untuk diikuti dan tidak membosankan, i have confession to make, sudah lama aku engga pernah baca buku dengan bahasa yang aku punya sendiri Indonesia, bukanya sok, tapi memang sudah kehilangan ketertarikan, gara – gara sudah seringnya membaca buku western, kira kira 2 tahunan terakhir, dan memang awalnya aku mulai suka benar – benar menjadi seorang Blibliophile awalnya ya aku mencoba baca buku import, (loh maaf jadi ke mana –  mana) tapi ini ada keterkaitannya dengan yang aku bahas kali ini guys, jujur juga ini buku pertama dari pengarang Indonesia yang aku baca setelah sekian lama bertaun taun lamanya, sudah engga terhitung lamanya, dan OMG it feels like i read my usual good books! dan kalian harus baca ini! recommended banget!

Kedua, covernya juga menarik, kalian pasti setuju ketika memilih sebuah buku, pasti mempertimbangkan, melihat covernya dulu kan? hehe same here guys!

Ketiga, jalan ceritanya yang bikin terus pengen membaca setiap paragrafnya hingga akhir, seriously guys i can’t put it down! walau kalian harus merasa sedih every time you turn the pages!

Processed with VSCO with se3 preset

anyaway, thankyou so much guys for reading, sorry my language this time is mixing haha karena aku sedang mereview buku Indonesia, dan engga mungkin donk terus – terusan memakai bahasa barat? walau sebenarnya gatal untuk berucap 🙂

Dear Dearly my blogger friends,

it’s been so long after my latest post in here, sorry for being MIA, because i have a hard time these past months, but i try to post as often as possible like usual 🙂 but i still really active reading and post my review on goodreads account, if you want to know what books i have read, you can visit it in the link below 🙂

*******

Back to the topic! i read it a couple of days ago, and dying to utter all my thoughts about this book, probably if you a friend of mine on goodreads, you must be knowing earlier, but it’s ok i will give you more details, but i will tell you earlier i haven’t read her first book the girl on the train, after watching the movie and this book released i really curios and directly picked it up, but yeah it took a month for me because i stopped still in the early stories, it was so hard for me to keep it up with so many characters in a book and i hate it! i  i read this had to flipped back and forth, i just got bored! i tried to continue it back after knowing one of my friend’s post in bookstagram. i had to admit it that time i started intrigued in the middle of the story, a lot of enigmas that made me keep going.

sometimes the plot with a lot of characters in here would be confusing you as well, but so far when i read the book, i didn’t find it hard, and it was better than the two of them to be difficulty, i was sure i wouldn’t finish it up and walked into another far.

Summary From Goodreads,

A single mother turns up dead at the bottom of the river that runs through town. Earlier in the summer, a vulnerable teenage girl met the same fate. They are not the first women lost to these dark waters, but their deaths disturb the river and its history, dredging up secrets long submerged.

Left behind is a lonely fifteen-year-old girl. Parentless and friendless, she now finds herself in the care of her mother’s sister, a fearful stranger who has been dragged back to the place she deliberately ran from—a place to which she vowed she’d never return.

With the same propulsive writing and acute understanding of human instincts that captivated millions of readers around the world in her explosive debut thriller, The Girl on the Train, Paula Hawkins delivers an urgent, twisting, deeply satisfying read that hinges on the deceptiveness of emotion and memory, as well as the devastating ways that the past can reach a long arm into the present.

Beware a calm surface—you never know what lies beneath.

Book Review, Fever Dream By Samanta Schweblin

  • Genres : Fiction, Horror, Literary fiction,
  • Format : Ebook by Riverhead Books
  • Goodreads : 3.75

Dear Reader and My Blogger Friends,

it didn’t take long to finish up this book, i couldn’t put it down although to the thought this book was confusing, i knew to the fact this book was translation between Span to English, i didn’t know if it was the writing or translation after reading several low rate comments from goodreads, apparently it was just not me ! it was not fair to give this book my half rates because of this error actually,

at the beginning i read this the confusion started without reading a little summary earlier i wouldn’t know if where the conversation took place, it was like a blur, the movement who’s speaking up among of the characters, really confusing, the ending felt like ‘is this book will be going to have the sequel?’ omg really just vague! actually i loved the idea of this book with the trilling sensation which was brought in this story! the characters itself, i didn’t know, if i want to like it or not because the vague actions and all. Those somethings that ruined the book! and again without so much chapters just it finished right away with the lone chapter, for me that was like without breathing the fresh air.

too bad for those things, actually the story was just really different from the kind

Summary from Goodreads,

A young woman named Amanda lies dying in a rural hospital clinic. A boy named David sits beside her. She’s not his mother. He’s not her child. Together, they tell a haunting story of broken souls, toxins, and the power and desperation of family.

Fever Dream is a nightmare come to life, a ghost story for the real world, a love story and a cautionary tale. One of the freshest new voices to come out of the Spanish language and translated into English for the first time, Samanta Schweblin creates an aura of strange psychological menace and otherworldly reality in this absorbing, unsettling, taut novel.

Review, Nowhere But Here by Katie McGarry

Dear Reader and My Blogger Friends,

Actually i had finished up reading this book a view days ago, and i hadn’t had a chance to post my review. this book was actually interesting for me, but i didn’t know why i was not too get the good sense to take my time to finish up this book quickly like other books i had read before and it took longer time.

Summary from Goodreads :

Seventeen-year-old Emily likes her life the way it is: doting parents, good friends, good school in a safe neighborhood. Sure, she’s curious about her biological father—the one who chose life in a motorcycle club, the Reign of Terror, over being a parent—but that doesn’t mean she wants to be a part of his world. But when a reluctant visit turns to an extended summer vacation among relatives she never knew she had, one thing becomes clear: nothing is what it seems. Not the club, not her secret-keeping father and not Oz, a guy with suck-me-in blue eyes who can help her understand them both.

Oz wants one thing: to join the Reign of Terror. They’re the good guys. They protect people. They’re…family. And while Emily—the gorgeous and sheltered daughter of the club’s most respected member—is in town, he’s gonna prove it to her. So when her father asks him to keep her safe from a rival club with a score to settle, Oz knows it’s his shot at his dream. What he doesn’t count on is that Emily just might turn that dream upside down.

No one wants them to be together. But sometimes the right person is the one you least expect, and the road you fear the most is the one that leads you home.

I liked the book that got me getting the new experience stories! this one was one of it! so interesting the author picked up this story. Perhaps, some of you thought the life of the motorcycle riders were full of the bad things! and so did i at the time, they were for me just like felon wherever they stayed, but you would have the other sight from this novel, that bad things were not all true, anyway i liked the idea of it.

The Plot of the story was clear where the main character Emily with her problems which shared into the first chapter that brought her to the issues in this story, the other main character Oz, a boy who have to live a life around the motorcycle riders and he assumed that would be the fate of him before Emily came to his life again that would change everything.

I love the character though! Emily was the bold ones and so did Oz who loved and had a faith with the family around who raised him.

The Cover story in this book was quite interesting with the main story about the motorcycle rider. The writing was like those young adult genre, i meant it matched with the story and environment which picked by the author herself.

So far i liked the story line although it took longer for me to finish up

Dear reader and my blogger friends,

i had had this ebook a couple months ago, and hadn’t had a chance to read it, and apparently this was a good story!  This book gave and left a message that

” don’t you ever afraid of telling anyone what really happens to you and don’t hide your dirty little secret by yourself ”

and that was probably Eden felt after got raped by her own brother’s good -closed-friend, the secret she wanted to keep herself in entire her high school, until she acted like a little slut, bad girl afterward, heartless just wanted to get attention from those who never saw her around, she assumed she wasn’t that attractive.

it had a good plot, started from her freshmen the day she got the awful day in her life until she brave to stand in her feet being brave girl to say what happened in her life in that moment.

i knew what happened to the main character, earlier, she definitely nice, sweet girl who was obedient to her parents, i thought her own best friend gave her the bad influence, beside what happened with her earlier. i had no idea what was eating her in mind, there were some attractive boys who tried to be closer to her with good attitude and intention, but she just didn’t care and only messing around with some guys just kept casual relationship, oh really? she changed to much after being a center of attention. i hated the character though!

for me the cover didn’t relate to the story, but wait, i thought it still, i just assumed the earlier she was like a beautiful flower in her way, then the petals just spread all over because she didn’t like that girl anymore, quite attractive from the first look.

it was no problem with the writing. storyline, it gave me a new experience reading, wasn’t like those books i read before, which always showed the sweetness about relationship and sort of stuffs.

Dear reader and my blogger friends,

actually i had had this book long time ago, then i picked it out and found out this good to be read. as my bookstagram friend posts, i remembered i had this book. this book was just an easy read when you wanna read a book in quick read in one sitting.

as the tittle of the book, this was the kindred spirits in star wars, those fans who let themselves being sucks for many days just to get the first line on the movie premiere. but it was cute at the moment they didn’t know each other, although from the start Gabe knew, who Elena was. the unexpected events turned to e interesting, you know waiting is something boring, this thing they got through for days. made a camp outside with strangers it made Elena had a new experience.

i thought it was going to be a celebration, like a way to be really excited about star wars with a bunch of other people who are really excited about star wars. like in Troy’s stories. like the time they all camped out for two weeks to see Return of the Jedi and ended up with soulmates and nicknames. The practical jokes that went on for days! the lightsaber battles!”

Sometimes when you don’t try to do something new and take a risk, you won’t ever get the unexpected experience, that’s something exciting you will ever meet in your life

That’s the lesson i get after reading this book.

Review, Isla and The Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins

  • Format : Ebook

Dear reader and my blogger friends,

i have read all the books in this series right all in this month, starting from Lola, Anna, and then the latest of the book Isla, all the books are perfect! i hope Stephanie Perkins will make the other sweet books like this.

Oh it feels so good when you find it out again there are those couples together again into one story! Anna- St. Clair, Lola- Cricket then the last thing who is being the center of this story Isla-Josh and this is the happily ever after not just about Lola-Josh, but for all the previous main pairs!

What you have felt when your crush apparently in love with you in return, but it not just the instant feeling after you admit to him, but he has it mutual like yours! Omg I couldn’t imagine how happy i am when i am on that term!

“How is it possible that my crush – my three-year-long crush – has a crush on me? This doesn’t happen in real life.”

like previous main characters from Anna, Lola and This Isla they are kind of a good girl with their own unique, beauty, creativity, to stand in their own feet! then find out their own prince charming although actually those are their crushes Lola from her freshman.

Definitely. see, if you come with me to New England, we can learn how to do all of those outdoorsy things you read about in your books. Exploring, camping, rock-climbing, rafting, stargazing, building fires_”

those are something cute activity which could be doing together, simple but fun, Isla and Josh has that kind of perfect things in their mind. being crush for each other, smart, bright teenage people. i like the relationship in this book, from the Isla’s familiy until that is kind of the ordinary family which is loving each other, but then Josh’s he has to deal with his famous parents and he just wanna stand in his own feet, digging what is in his capacity, so that you can take the lesson of this book.

this series is kind of good reads for young adult!

Review,Take a Chance, One More Chance (Rosemary Beach Series) by Abbi Glines

Dear Reader and My Blogger Friends,

This Time i wanna give my review for another series from rosemary beach, Harlow Manning and Grant Carter, actually i have to read the earlier series from Della and Wood earlier, but i thought it was ok to read this love series, anyway i had to get through several books at first to decide which one i wanted to read, because i wanted to look over my main favorite pair of this series Blair and Rush Finlay oh so adorable to see in this book their child Nathan (Nate) was growing so well. So i start from Take A Chance,

  • Published : February 25, 2014
  • Genres : Contemporary, Romance, New Adult, Contemporary, ContemporaryRomance
  • Pages : 288 pages
  • Format : ebook
  • Publisher : Atria books
  • Goodreads : 4,15

From this love story, was all about  “The confusion of having relationship, or could be said afraid of  having that kind of thing, when fall too deep, it will be worst in pain. That was the feeling Grant felt, if he found out he had fall to far to Harlow, he never loved someone that was so deep like Harlow.

I was in the middle feeling with this story, between like and dislike, When i read this book especially the first part of Harlow and Grant, it seemed like reading the story of Blair and Rush with the sweet Blair walk on Rush Life, i thought it similar like Harlow with the bad boy-Grant, The way Grant treated Harlow, it was like the possessiveness Rush had for Blair. It seemed like we were reading the same story line but just different name character, but in the end i still enjoyed this.  at first i absolutely loved with Harlow Character, the sweet girl and really nice, wasn’t affected from outside especially the bad things, then Grant came into her life and she became like a wild around Grant, oh no from the sweet girl like her? Then i really dislike Grant Character, basically i am not a fan of the male with the sweet-talker, and that it was owned by A Grant Carter, so a lot of the prove when it came he spoke up with Harlow like

“But you were just in her bed a week ago,” she said. The pain in her eyes as she reminded not only me but herself made me hate myself. “I was drunk and stupid. It didn’t mean anything. With you, it always means something.”

Oh please Grant! You go overboard!

“ But Never Compare Yourself to Anyone Else I’ve Ever Been With Because You’re All I Want And All I See”

I’d prefer This second book of  Harlow and Grant love story! Behind Harlow’s secret at the end of the first book, Grant proved that he really loved Harlow. He waited for her to come back in his life anymore. And the miss-understanding between the two that made they were separated for awhile.

Grant had to wait her in pain when he got a miracle from Harlow while she, herself had to deal with on the middle of the end of her life.this part was kind of  bittersweet J

“Life without the love of the woman who owns you makes it one empty fucking nightmare.”

“Was this the way it was supposed to be in life? You couldn’t have every dream, but you could have part of it? You could only have a taste of something but never the full thing?
